Actually, yes we can - and we are!
We've been enjoying the first week together at home as a family of four and settling in nicely. Graeme's so happy he's even giving us smiles!
We are thrilled to present Graeme William FitzGerald, who was welcomed into our lives at 8:49pm on Sunday, September 13th (his due date), weighing in at a healthy 9lbs 2oz (4139g), and maxing out the measuring tape (really!) at 23" (58 cm).
Graeme's first few days at home have gone smoothly and Deavan and Ruby have both taken an interest in the new addition - Calli, as usual, remains indifferent.
We've done a few fun excursions in the past couple of months. Its impossible to share all the great photos, so here's a flavour of our trips to...
Toronto zoo (including the Big Apple and fun at the hotel):
A cottage we rented on Bass lake:
Picnic with ringette friends; a visit from his 2nd cousin, Ryder:
And a trip to Experimental Farm:
Deavan loves to clown around especially when he's got an attentive audience. I'm sure his little brother or sister will get a kick out of him.
He's become quite the adept little eater (or food snatcher, as the case may be).
We're preparing Deavan for a new "big boy" room and we'll share photos of those minor renos when we're done.
Deavan got to enjoy a BBQ followed by fireworks this Canada Day - although fireworks at 7pm aren't exactly explosive... Good thing he took a nap with Dad in the morning to be ready for the festivities!
And just to prove that we've had sun this summer in Ottawa, here are a few pictures of the little man enjoying some time splashing about in his pool or in the creek.
We got the results from Deavan's biopsy and he's got a clean bill of health - Yay! Some short term meds and a follow-up are all that's left to do.
This means more time to play...
At the Trimble's:
With the sunny weather, Deavan can't be convinced that inside can be as fun as being outside... "Dehors! Dehors!"
And why would he when he gets to go on hikes out back, eat apples on his favourite bench, teach Dad how to expertly cut the lawn, test drive grandma and grandpa Fitz's Miata, and unwind by playing on the swing!
At the end of May, Deavan had his long awaited day surgery at CHEO. Our little guy was entertained all morning, including being wheeled up and down the hallway, in order to help him forget that he hadn't eaten since the night before!
He bounced back quickly and was excited to play with the balloons that he'd gotten from the family Slivinski.
Thanks to everyone for your thoughts, well wishes and prayers! We'll keep you posted...
