Toddler of Two

We celebrated Graeme's birthday on a sunny, September day.  The kids played a water balloon game but most of the fun was in bursting them all!

The choo-choo train cake gave them that sugar rush to tear through the presents.  Lots of fun.

New England road trip

In August, we decided to take a road trip through Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine with the ultimate destination of going to the beach in Saco, ME.  Turns out the Atlantic ocean is too darn cold :)

We had a great time doing all sorts of excursions, but Story Land in Glen, NH was the highlight!

   

We also had a chance to visit family friends Dot and Leo in Maine and get some good shopping in along the way (…”Mom, Dad… are you in there? Are we done shopping yet!?!)

…now its back home and the infamous first day of school (eep!)!

Punta Cana, DR

The family took a much deserved break at the beginning of April and headed south to Punta Cana.  Our goal was to go somewhere that could get us there in one flight and a hotel that could accommodate placing the kids in a separate section of the room. 

We stayed at the Paradissus Punta Cana in the ‘Reserve’ section, which has lots of extras for kids that are worth the upgrade.

Besides a few hiccups upon take-off and arrival, we really enjoyed our vacation.  And more importantly, the boys loved playing on the beach; in the sand; and swimming in the pool!  We also had fun with the House family who took their own vacation.

     

Indoor - Outdoor

Lots of fun activities to do both indoors and outside.  Deavan and Graeme spent some time at the museum of Nature with Alison; colouring/painting; and wrestling with each other.

Outside, the boys enjoyed tobogganing down their slide that eventually turned into a tunnel; playing at the pond; and even Ruby played around in the snow.

   

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

The FitzGeralds have had quite a busy year with work (both of us back full time), travel (Montreal, Arizona, trips around ON), birthdays (Graeme’s 1st and Deavan’s 3rd), and, of course, Christmas. 

The year began with Deavan and Graeme staying at home full time (minus a day or two at daycare for Deavan) with Mom followed by Dad.  We did all sorts of fun things including outings and vacations; visits with family and friends (near and far); Deavan’s first train ride and Graeme’s first plane ride; all sorts of baby and toddler milestones; and so much more!

On the home front, we got a new wood burning fireplace; the boys got a fun play area outside with swings and a sandbox; Scott made lots of headway downstairs on the basement renos; and Lawrence started redoing the upstairs bathroom.

The year ahead promises to be just as busy…   Work will remain steady as we both continue in our respective acting positions; more activities and excursions planned; renovations and upgrades including some professional landscaping; more toddler milestones (…this year will be Graeme’s turn for potty training); and a scary thought: our little guy, Deavan, will start full-time school come September!
